15 days ago, my dad went in to the hospital to have what was supposed to be a “with reference to something else” mere surgery…. For an 83 year old… The surgery itself, you be aware of cutting and stitching, displacement of a kidney and the cancer that musing it needed to take legal settlement in dad’s body. All that went well. But then dad’s language swelled up, he contemplation he’d have some chest penalty, and his body forgot how to take into the stomach properly. Record to self… Do not EVER take the aptness to swallow for granted. What was supposed to be three days in the hospital turned into 6, along with Puppa being discharged with a feeding pipe that goes from his nose to bowel. All this for a man who has never made a big degree about himself or caused too much “agitation”. Even now, as he and my mom’s dwelling is over run with their “Gestapo” daughter, the brother’s, my mom, and any succor I can gather along the way, I have not heard one plaint from dad, other than “I notion we were going to get to go have some oatmeal.” This after his next to the first failed gorge test. “My flapper’s not laboring” is Dad’s delineation over the phone to his tribe that call.

If Dad’s “flapper” was laboring properly, he’d be doing groovy, in place he’s hooked up to a cross-examine 16 hours a day. My brother’s and I have all taken turns running the show; I have taken on the station of patient promote. It’s all trial and oversight, I am in previously uncharted country, and I seriously awe constantly what the race who don’t have an advocate do. I fancy get sicker, rest in hospital longer, dry up away, and don’t go fishing.
