Church leaders pause to ask big questions

On February 11-12, our Lead Team and Instrumentality agency Chairs gathered at Wayfarer Center Encampment at Green Lake to get to be aware of one another, share meals and fun, and to pledge several emerging ‘big questions’ in the the breath of one's nostrils of our congregation.  After a year and a moiety of focusing our potency on raising coin and remodeling our construction, we felt it was duration to look ahead to the exciting things that lay in front.  While no characteristic decisions were made, it was an energizing weekend of contemplative conversation and brainstorming.

Questions we discussed included

* How do we faithfully fabricate on the strengths of our emerging and bulging program for pl of child and youth?  Tammy Martens laid our our seeing and invited canvassing on how we might move forward.

* How do we more deep welcome and integrate those new to the meeting-house.  Ken Pennings invited reflecting on our own experiences and helped us mark anew what an true welcome looks cognate to newcomers.

* Planning for Winton Boyd’s sabbatical.  Winton will be pleasing a sabbatical from July through seasonable October.  He laid out several goals for that duration and invited input.  Later, the leaders continued the ventilation without the pastors.

* Embracing our Leading Campaign commission gift.  This year will see  significative effort put into deciding how to mete approximately $150,000 (a tenth part from our capital campaign).

* Adoration expansion.  Winton shared several insights and ideas for expanding reverence opportunities – either through another work or with additional approach to the current labor from the Friendship Chamber.  Profound and creative cogitative ensued.
